Ripper bass tone for around 1k ?

I recently joined a new band and am in need of a professional instrument, I am absolutely in love with the sound and look of a Ripper, but I do not have the money to drop on a vintage Gibson. I am looking for that kind of nasally growl type of sound. Does anyone know of an alternative ?

Great price on that! Love the burst. If I wasn't committed to other things I'd buy that in a heart beat.

I found one with a natural one with a rosewood fingerboard for 1300, is that too expensive ? also i do not know how to feel about a natural ripper with a dark fretboard... idk maybe I'm just too much of a purist !!!!!!!

I'd say yes.

Do bear in mind that you'd likely have to buy a set of Duncans as well, since I doubt that the original pickups on the Aria will get you where you want to be...

My $0.02 only...

the only other one I could find was the one at MMR, marked up to 1.5k, I have looked up the sound demos for the aria, and it sounds pretty true to the grabber (to my ear) but i am hesitant to drop that much on one of these.

what do you guys think?
