Ritchie Blackmore as a bass player

Apparently the story is that he fired Jimmy Bain after the release of Rainbow Rising in 1977, and played bass on the album Long Live Rock'n'Roll in 1978.



Although Bob Daisley is rumored to have played bass on much of Long Live Rock, he only played on the demos. I think he was still using his Gibson EB-3 bass at the time. Roger Glover played on Down To Earth, and I think he was playing a Gibson Thunderbird bass during that time.



What bass did Ritchie play on that album? I suppose he would have played a Gibson EB-3 and I think a Gibson Thunderbird bass.

Here is a pic of Ritchie playing a Fender Musicmaster Bass, so I guess that is the bass Ritchie used for the album.

I like the Marshalls. I wonder if they ripped the Marshall insignias off on purpose or they just broke from roadies throwing them around? I had a Marshall years ago with a broken off insignia.

Daisley played on Gates of Babylon, Kill The King, and Sensitive to Light.

A modded Marshall Major was the amp Daisley used on the few tracks. Wonder if Ritchie did the same since it was his amp he gave to Bob in the first place or he went straight to the soundboard

Ron Wood used to use Marshall Majors when he played bass for the Jeff Beck Group, great amps, I've had two.

Daisley didn't play on the demos as he joined while the album was already being recorded and he played on the album tracks mentioned above.
He didn't use an EB-3 (he didn't own one at the time) but used his '61 Precision and '55 Precision.
