Road trip! Travelling Effect Scrap Book

Posts per day is not a good metric for visting. I visit almost everyday, but rarely post.

yeah... that's what stopped me from suggesting posts per day... I'm on here reading constantly, but I don't have the experience with different effects to justify posting often. Problem is that any measure we have has exceptions and "irregular" users that qualify. I think in the end the only way to really ensure its coming back is to do it by invite and not worry about who wishes they could be involved. People like myself and the giantslacker might be able to get in on round two as stu suggested, but even just seeing it go on a tour of the regular posters would be an entertaining thread.

This sounds very cool, and as a guy with a board full 'o toys I'd like to get in. Oh well, maybe next time...

Seriously though - trying something similar to this on another non-bass related board and it's working just about as well. As a guy who has no part in it (but wouldn't turn it down :) ), I'd say that the owner of the BOA should pick who it goes to.

Probably time to finally bust out the card and make myself a supporting member - I don't post all that much, especially in FX, but I do lurk a lot.

Whoa, whoa!

You can't just start nominating people. Sheesh.

First an exploratory committee needs to be formed to discuss the feasibility of such a nomination system.

Afterwards the results of these preliminary discussions will be posted in the lobby after which the nomination commission (which itself will need to be voted upon) will begin the nomination process with the normal debate following each name suggested.

Following that, the Talkbass department of transportation will plot out the exact route of the pedal.

Of course, Stu will have line item veto power over both the proposed route and the nominated participants. It will require a 2/3 majority of the Effects senate to overrule any of these individual vetos.

My staff is currently clearing my schedule to begin this process at the end of November. With any luck (and barring a filibuster), the pedal in question (heretofore to be referred to as "BOA") should begin its journey sometime in late 2008.

Some of you may complain that this is too long to wait, but I disagree. After our last aborted attempt, the need for more stringent guidelines was obvious. After all, if we've learned anything from bloated bureaucracies, it is that they rarely if ever make mistakes.

Let us proceed thusly.
