spot the children.!!!.the bass is just a guitar..nothing more.so what if he uses it thats what it was built for!if you had bought it would you use it??and as he payed for it its his to do what he wants.rob imo did the right thing for his own reasons...kind of sad to see so called bass players bitching over whos better than who..if you like certain types of music thats fine if not thats fine too,does not make it of any less value..if you want to be a better player you have to open your ears and mind to all types of music.. the music is in the player not the instrument,,jacos bass is just an old fender..
 
No word on "should he play or should he give it to the Pastorius family", but if I had that bass in my hands I would never risk taking it to the road. I mean, the thing is really a gem, historical and we have heard stories about stolen "big name's" guitars, like the guy from REM and Adrian from Iron Maiden. I see it like a Picasso painting or something like that, I would keep it as safe as possible.
