I D/Led last night and posted my experiences on the other thread. My impressions are mostly positive, although I'm having some trouble with latency (need to mess with the values more), and I'm having some trouble with the songs I already know because it starts you off with sparse lines, and I find myself subconsciously wanting to play the full ones.

The way I dealt with the lag was to use the HDMI from the PS3 for video, and the AV out from the PS3 to my stereo and the TV on mute for the audio. Plenty of info on the official RS website how to deal with lag.

I think if you play the "real" line during the sparse sections, it doesn't ding you.

People complained a lot (online reviews) about guitar being too annoying and slow to progress through everything, is that not the case so much with bass?

I see that you can still play and not get "dinged" and that seems to be good.

I've never played or even seen someone playing these. A video would be really sweet, actually. (not beginner stuff)

Apparently not. Some are reporting they are actually finding it easier to get double encores, master levels and such with the bass than with the guitar.

So far, I'm digging it. As someone who never practices, and don't really know any songs (anymore), this game has been an inspiration for me to get down to business and do a little woodshedding. Just downloaded Born on the Bayou by CCR, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (short version, of course), and Whipping Post (one of the tunes I already sorta know how to play) , three of my favoritest tunes from when I was a kid.
