Roger Guitars (RBass) experiences?

I've seen a few very nice RBasses in the classified, so I decided to investigate, and it seems Mr Roger is selling them (for not that much more than the used ones) out of his Facebook page here: Roger Guitars

Anyone has recent experience with them? Anything I should be wary of?

The pictures look good and the sound clips I've been able to find sound great, but since I've been super unlucky when buying basses unseen (warped necks, faulty electronics, you name it...), I'm a little paranoid.

I was an R bass user for few years, great instruments. Very sharp attack on the notes, great definition. Piano like intonation. You won’t be disappointed. Most of his basses are on the heavy side. He worked with Carl Thompson. The definition of his basses I only hear it on the CT and Hilton basses. Both of them learned the secret from Carl. My last R bass, a complete Beast, however too heavy for me.

I agree about the description of his basses, except for the weight, universally. I have seen a lot of his basses in the 9+ pound range, but I have owned at least 10 over the years. The basses I have had have all been under 9.5. My current R Bass weighs 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and that's with a thick ash center sandwich (3 piece body with an alder back, ash center and flamed walnut top), dual coils, a preamp and tons of switches included (it all adds up).
I ordered it from him as a custom commission. I specified in the 8s, and he delivered. I DO and have seen many R Basses where they were too heavy for me, as well. It seems like it must be a NYC thing. Tons of overweight butterflies out there, as we've all seen.
