Double Bass Rogeri from the String Emporium

I used to own a Juzek bass which I sold some years back for twice what I had paid for it. I decided to get back into playing, but knew i couldn't afford a carved wood bass from any of the shops around here(Montreal). I stumbled upon the String Emporium site, watched a video of owner Steve play the Eccles Sonata, and was impressed. After speaking with Steve on the phone a few times I took the plunge and ordered the Rogeri. A fine, fine instrument it is. It's easy to play and it just sings! Looks great too.

The String Emporium is a place to check out.

Do you receive the bass yet? I'd love to try it out in person if you're willing. Let me know via PM if you prefer.
thanks.

I wanted to shed my bowing (a lot) so Steve suggested the Evahs. So far so good. Also, I bought a Finale bow which sounds a lot better that what I had. Nothing sinister going on here unless you count me not owning a camera as sinister. I hate taking pictures. Sorry. Oh yeah, anyone in or around Montreal would be welcome to try it.

Hi Stuart,

So pleased that you are happy with your bass.

Many of us fill out our profiles, as a way of providing a context for our posts. I see that you are male, I hear that you live in Montreal, and I now know that you have a bass, bow, and string you are enjoying. I would offer that you have a lot more going for you than many of us!

Welcome.

I've split the thread into two parts. If you want to talk about the bass in the OP, post here. If you want to argue about String Emporium and other online dealers and their business practices, go Here.

If anyone decides to crap up this thread with more divisive speculation that belongs in the other thread, I'm going to start saving precious moments of my life and just automatically issuing infractions. It's not what I want to do, but life is too short. Again, if you want to post/weigh in/argue about the other subject, do it in the other thread. Thanks.
