Rogue Lx405b

Gotta say there is a lot of hate on this site for rogue, and I'm not sure if i just got lucky or if I truly am the only one that likes them. I am unabashedly new to bass only been playing for give or take a year, but was rogue really that bad?

First bass was without a doubt trash. it was made in china and the resellers were so ashamed they forgot to put their names on it.

second bass is a first act (yes i know, but I've done work on it, and its not bad) nuff said.

most recent (5-6 months) is my rogue 5er. and i love it, soo much better than my others.

i have played silvertone's in music stores, and felt meh for the price, i also played an epi sg style and again more or less meh.

so within my limited price range the rogue looked the best.

(I also played a friends rick 4001 whooo me likey, but WAY out of my range)

so yea, some feed back from bassists on this guitar specifically would be great, i know the lx100's were crap but thats not what i have so please done just say rogues are junk because my lx(not405) was crappy.

Edit: my dad plays guitar, an as such has no idea how a bass works/ should play. he still thinks a car sub is an appropriate speaker.

I have a rogue bass too. I have a rogue lx200b 4-string bass and I can honestly say it's not too shabby. for a cheap bass, it's got some pretty good sound quality. I also was wondering why everyone here on talkbass gave rogue basses such a bad rap. honestly, you shouldn't judge a bass from it's price range, you should judge it from it's sound quality. you might be amazed on how they sound for the price. I took a chance on purchasing a rogue bass and I think it sounded pretty good for a cheap bass. these basses are kinda like the basses from rondo music. they have great sound quality at an affordable price.

i think some people got the early ones and from what i've heard these were not very good, but everything from the las couple years has been gold from what i have had the chance to play. though till today i have been playing through a modified marshall practice amp for guitar.... yeah i know....

Really...I never knew that. I guess that how rogue makes great sounding basses at affordable prices.

I have the Rogue VB-100 (Beatle bass) and it's a very nice bass for its price range. Pickups sound great, are not microphonic, and the electronics have been trouble-free. Bodywork and finish are equal to MUCH more expensive instruments. I put a set of Labella flats on it and it's a very good bass with a great period sound.

I've had a couple and thought they were very good for the price. I "loaned" one to my good friend who uses it for one set every gig to give his back a rest from his Fender J-Bass. He's easily logged over 500 gigs with it without a single issue. It's the low end 4 string model, I believe I paid $79 for it - new

Ha, I have that same bass.

Found it on Amazon.com (shipped from MF) for $25 + $14 shipping, then some little coupon popped up, then by getting/using their credit card a credit of $30 I used for something else later.

Anyways, the bass ended up costing me only a few bucks.

I haven’t played with it for a while, but I know it’s got a smallish body and is very light; a great choice for someone with back pain.

Anyone?...well I've gigged with a rogue lx200b 4-string bass with my brother's band on a halloween show this year. it sounded pretty cool. plus some people were giving me good compliments about how the bass sounded. said it before and I'll say it again. it sounded pretty cool for a cheap bass.

I gig with 2 Rogues, a new LX400 Series III, and an older LX408 8-string.
I like them fine, and love the price and good looks.
They record well, too, even compared to an Ibanez SR500 and a MIM Jazz.

I have the LX406B and I totally dig it. Compared to other basses I've played in the same range(say like a Peavey or Squier)I can't tell a difference at all. The Rogues generally don't look as professional or refined or whatever, but they play and feel the same. Heck, I just ordered the blue LX200 precision model! I will eventually put a bridge and pup cover on it, and replace the bridge and tuning keys with hipshots and put in some EMGs to beef it up to "specs". I don't know what all the hub-bub is...Rogue rocks.

Yeah I love my Rogue series 2 4-sring. One of my favorite things about the Rogues is the long scale. I can play an E major scale 3 octaves on this thing Probably would get 4 octaves on a 5-string.
