Roland BN 100 a little flat

Hi all. Have an old Roland BN 100 that seems a little flat. Any tips or mods to make it a little crisper/ punchier? Speaker swap ideas? Thanks!

The best mod will be to replace it with something you like better!

Well, if it's flat, you simply turn the tuning key and bring it up to pitch.





Other than that, what do you mean by "flat"?

Remove the power cord, slide a new amp in place and plug in the power cord

not much on here about these, I have one and kinda wonder what types of 15 are best to put in it? got it used & came with a broken black widow 1502..
no need for any smart a__ remarks either!

They have knobs on the front you can turn and adjust how it sounds.
Seriously, you might want to crank the lows and highs more low volume more than you would at high volume.

Something inexpensive. Eminence Alpha. It'll be much better than whatever's in it now.

so, You think the alpha is better than the 1502 widow? what about for low end? can those take the low freqs ok?

The Alpha's less than 1/2 the BW price. Alpha goes almost as low, but a LOT higher. Alpha has ~35% greater Xmax. It's only rated at 200 RMS vs. the BW 350, but the amp only does 100, right? Weighs 8 lbs. less, too. Do the Peavey if you prefer. Your bucks. I just know I wouldn't .

what are your thoughts on the Emi beta, only 15 or 20 bucks more than the alpha?

Want to go the not-too-many extra bux? I think the Beta's nice. Greater RMS, range, & sensitivity. Tad more Xmax.

this is appreciated.. however, I thought, from info on some of the other 15 threads, that the black widow was a little more durable and could take a little more power than a delta pro or a EV15B as well.. Had no idea an alpha or a beta was almost as heavy duty as a black widow..
