Yes it was the Meyer Goosekneck mic for Double Bass. It sat on in the Talkbass Classifieds for several months. I'm sure Meyer is a good company, but advertizing is one thing, and you'll want the particulars. The Line Audio CM3, but that's not a performance microphone, just a good choice for recording the bass, to input the sound file into the ToneDexter.

I got mine of Ebay as well from Belgium, no issues at all, with the time international shipping takes. Peter Axelsson who developed the "Chuck Israels" Double bass microphone, reccommended the Line Audio CM3 to me as an affordable alternative to the Scheops CMC6/MK41 which is a fantastic mic

but costs $1.500.00.

Great! I'll be using the CM3s for recording not performance. I use the good ol' sm53s for that. Thanks for the good steerage, Ric!

Hey, Ric! You've piqued my interest in the D:Vote 4099. 'Might' give it a shot via Sweetwater Satisfaction guarantee. But may not if I get better results with ToneDexter next week. Have you got first hand experience with 4099? Are you able tell me how feedback resistant it is? And should I hope to manage it well with HPF like I do now with the peizo?

Also, there is no xlr jack or phantom power on my AI Clarus SL. Wondering if I will get good results using my cheap stand-alone Sterling brand Phantom unit and xlr to 1/4 plug adapter. I also have to wonder if mic only Vs mic/blend is the right direction to go. Not quite up to buying another amp too.

Don't hesitate to let these questions slide if I've worn you out. I'm realize I'm kind of milk'n it here. ;)

Yes, I had a DPA 4099B from 2008-2017. I used it lots for FOH. I tried to use it in conjunction with my Ehrlund EAP pickup. On my bass with a Headway EDB-2 blending the two sounded great, but the EAP alone sounds almost as good and is less prone to bleed and feedback. To theit credit the DPA mounting, size, new goosekneck extension, detachable cable and weight make it a very easy to mount and remove. The Sterling Phantom should work fine, I don't if the adapter will work, does it have a 1/4 out?

Yes, xlr in 1/4 out. I've emailed them for advice. I use some one else's upright on the other side of town every week. It would be great to pull 4099B off of mine and pop it on that one. Thank you again (and again), Ric.

TMI - I have a Cube 60 that I bought over 15 yrs ago - it was at a garage sale and I paid $50 for it. I replaced the speaker with a (cheap) Carvin speaker and have been expecting it to die for the past 14 years. I use it weekly for teaching my Slab Students. It bounces around in my trunk and bakes in the 100 degree heat but refuses to DIE. It is the cockroach of bass amps - it does not look (or sound) pretty, but it always makes a sound.
It is the best $50 I have ever spent on gear.
