Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120

Hey Justin,

Given your expertise as a producer and music fan when it comes to Post Punk, Shpoegaze, Dreampop, 80's and early 90's sounds I think you're the right guy to ask about this amp, the Roland JC-120. I guess you have tons of experience with this guy recording dreamy clean guitars. I think it's time for me to get one, but once I started my search I realized there are many different versions with different speakers and circuit variations over the years. Do you have any fav version of this amp or any recommendation at the time to purchase one?

Thanks!!!

Howdy, yeah I'm a JC-120 disciple for sure. I have an old one, early 80's, Roland branded speakers. Unfortunately I'm not savvy enough to speak of different eras/versions. However, I might also recommend you consider the smaller counterparts: 40, 77, etc. The newer JC-40 has a fair facsimile of that tone to me, and it runs quieter which is kinda nice. Plus stereo inputs. But regardless, I'll never give up my 120, I love it and recommend it.
