Honestly, how many children do you know with back broblems?
I'm a children with back problems!
Heh. Seriously, I have scoliosis (32 or so percent curvature in my lower spine, and like 15% ontop of it). I point the blame squarely at the school systems (we're going to ignore that I slouched alot). I was never a very active, go outside and run alot kind of child, so I was probably weaker than some other kids. And here they were expecting us to carry ten pounds worth of crap home because the teachers didn't want to teach at school everyday.
To be honest, I don't remember much from elementary school. But I still think it's pretty ridiculous as to all these really thick textbooks they expect us to drag home everyday. Thankfully right now, I only have one, my Chemistry book, that I always carry, but then I don't actually have to carry it anyway.
In response to the original topic, though, I had a rolling backpack once in I think fourth grade. I think it lasted me almost to the end of the year, then it just fell apart (I was alittle abusive), so I guess they're okay. But having to put up with walking behind a kid with one was quite annoying in the halls.
And then you'd think we all grow up and suck it up in high school, when I sometimes see a girl using one. I start to think "Didn't they get rid of those in middle school?". She's probably a freshman, yes, but I don't know of anyone else who carried those over into high school. But then, who needs a rolling bookbag when you have a car?!
Man, I wish I had a car...and a liscense...
