Roscoe Century-3005 "J" Coming Together!

It's really nice - it's got all the same properties that I'm drawn to in the 4-string. Fat, smooth, great note definition (I love playing chords through these pickups).

I'll be busy mixing this 3 Minute Lovin' stuff for the next day or two, but I'll do a clip before too long...

I'll be really interested to hear it.

That 4 string just *nails* the sound I'm looking for in a jazz bass (with you playing it, of course---if I were to buy it and play it, it'd probably sound like a P with worn out flats or something:().

Anyway, that 4 string has got me discussing changes in specs with Gard on my upcoming order (yes, it's still happening;)).

This might just work----not only do I buy my basses from Greg, but he comes to gigs and plays them for me, too.

I have a two nighter in Grand Forks this weekend. If you hurry and get on a plane, you could still make it..........

And the Eagle has landed!

The color in these photos is pretty accurate. It's a paler, more golden brown than I usually associate with Sapele/Bosse. I imagine the top may darken over time with a little exposure to daylight... or not!

The bass is insanely good looking in person. For looks, this bass and the Bubinga one are the prettiest in the store to my eyes... but I'm a nut for strange wood (that's right, you guys have fun with that one). :rollno::D

Oh, good lord. This bass sounds INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to get my own Roscoe jazz back from the G'boro shop so I can get the tone of these Bartolini pickups working for me... :hyper:

I've been working on this clip for a couple days. Mainly, I've been working on the drums. I've figured out how to break out each drum instrument in Sonar's Session Drummer 3 program to a separate audio track. That let's me treat each drum instrument with it's own EQ and reverb (which is pretty key on the snare). I've also incorporated more cymbal sounds (2 splashes, china, an alternate crash), and that's always nice for variety. The entire kit is panned wider and more logically now, so it should be a nice headphone experience.

So I've got some booming drum parts coming at ya with about 30 minutes of bass effort on top of that. I intend to expand this recording way beyond this, but I couldn't wait to share what I have so far...
