Some folks are going to laugh at me for this but, I need to let this one go. I got it on a whim just because I wanted to see how much I liked this configuration for a future Roscoe build. Now, I need the cash to buy a whole bunch of bermuda sod to cover up my mud pit of a back yard. Also, I have another Roscoe build that will be done in the coming weeks.

Well, what else could I say about this bass that hasn't already been said? Yes, this is the same Roscoe Century Standard Plus fretless originally owned by SteveC. He missed it so much that he got another built just like it. I really like the JB pickups and I plan on getting an SKB Custom built with the same setup next year probably. I've owned other Centuries before but, I've come to realize I am definitely an SKB man. They just fit me a little better.

So, here are the details although most folks already know this bass. Also, it is dead mint. It's much like it was the day it left Greensboro.

Roscoe Century Standard Plus Fretless
Five string
Flame maple top
Mahogany body
Black diamond wood board
Aluminum fret lines
Bartolini JB pickups
Bartolini three band preamp
35" scale
18.3" spacing
Black hardware

$2100 shipped CONUS

Thx cool man! She's a beauty and matches my Elrick top. What's the neck shape and thickness.

It has the standard Roscoe neck shape. So, if you've ever played a Roscoe then it's just like that. If that doesn't describe it, then: C shape, not too thick, not too thin. I've played a few Elriks and I would say that they are similar.

Hi there, can you provide an exact weight of the bass? Thanks!

Apparently, my bathroom scale is incredibly inaccurate. It's never the same weight twice and those weights can be over pound different. Same when I step on it. So, let's go with 9 +/- 1 pounds. Its a little heavier than my swamp ash SKB which is right at 8 pounds. This bass is made of mahogany after all.

SteveC is gonna freak now that he's just taken delivery of his replacement...
There is no fretless like a Roscoe, and that's even before considering that no one else I know of does aluminum lines.
Love, love, love my Roscoe fretless - I'm an SKB guy too - just got a fretted SKB to complete the set...

This one is SO good, I'm tempted to find the cash for it myself. Really. If you're looking for a fretless 5 string, buy this thing. Please. Before I start auctioning off body parts.

This is an amazing bass. The best fretless I have played - until the delivery of my current fretless. Seriously, I tried to buy this back a couple times with no luck. I can only assume that it wasn't "meant to be" and my current fretless is.

This is one of the top 2-3 Roscoes (I have owned 8 and played a few more so not very scientific but you know what I mean) I have played - fretted or fretless. I love both my Roscoes but there is something special about a Roscoe fretless. This one is even more so. Gard gets to play a lot of them and if he remembers and is GASing for this, you know it's special. I remember being told what a fool I was to let this go. Maybe so, but I really love my current fretless. If I could justify (and afford) two basically identical basses (except for the top) I'd buy this one right now.
