Show up.

Speaking of Foothills, I've got 4 of THESE chilling and waiting for that day:

Niiiiice! Had a few pints of that at Landmark in Raleigh a month or so ago. That Bourbon barrel is the real deal....mmmm, Sexual Chocolate baby!

After hearing Jimmy's bass (which is incredibly monstrous and warm), I say we make this top into a "Jimmy Haslip" model!!

LG-3006, Mahog body, standard neck, Pau Ferro board (is this right?), vol/vol w/ 3-band EQ, pickups slanted Jimmy's way (B-string side closer to bridge, G string side closer to neck).

Slurp!

YES!

I'm curious how the Vol/Vol setup compares to standard NTMB.

:D

God Bless, Ray

Cool beans, yes - the board is Pau Ferro; when I first held the bass (in the Marriott hotel lobby of all places :D), I asked Gard if it was Rosewood due to the darker color, but he said is was definitely Pau Ferro.

I will subscribe to this thread and be green with envy of the owner!

I approve of this message.

(...and don't even need a lesson to do so! :ninja: )

The order is now official. Man, I'm excited about this one!! Not only was this one of the first tops I ever picked out at the Roscoe shop (so it's FINALLY becoming a bass), but this one is going to be so similar to Jimmy's bass that I can't wait to play it. When I finally get around to ordering a 6-string for myself, I'm thinking I'll spec it similar to this one...

Here are two exciting pieces of news that I received from Gard today.

#1: The Unknown Australian Burl is called York Gum Burl.

#2: York Gum Burl kicks butt when it's turned into a bass!

Here's a progress pic of what I've been calling "The Jimmy Bass". It's a 6-string LG with the pickups slanted the way Jimmy's pickups are slanted (if he played righty and not upside down). Holy Jeepers, this bass is going to be HOT!
