Double Bass Rosin Saver Black fingerboard dots

Just got some black fingerboard dots from Jordan Scapinello of Rosin Saver. He is a smart guy. The black dots are stealthy but effective. In conversation with Jordan he told me he places them not on the harmonics (I put them on to study the Fractal Fingering method which uses the harmonic nodes as the central points) but on from the D string: G,C,E,G,C,E.
The reason being that the nodal points are so well established already. Placing them on these points illuminates the notes in the "cracks".
I went ahead and used the C triad method and I really dig it. It aids in "seeing" thumb position in a way that clarifies the fingerboard intelligently and musically. I like the nodal points too but putting a dot at C E G etc (the C below the Octave on the D) really aids me in improvising in thumb position. Keys that were in the cracks are clear and the keys that I play off the nodes are also clear. Farther up in thumb it is really useful.

@flatback I got Jordan’s dots as well and also corresponded with him re: placement. I went ahead with the C triad placement and I must say I dig it as well!

I put them about midway between the D and G strings and on (all notes on the G string, thumb position) A, C, F and A.
