Roto 77 flats w/ blue tapering?

It's like butter. I've had a pack and like I said I had to send them back but wow. They are like upright strings.
So I just put then on. They sound nice but I'm not sure why they sound uneven.. I have a bright E and A string with a thuddy G and D string. What's going on???
