In a bit of dumb luck, I found a place that had these on sale - a 2 pack for $3.95! So for about $16 I bought 8 sets of these, 45-105 gauges. Price was too good to pass up…I know next to nothing other than they are Nickel Swingbass without silks, per a few sparse old threads.

Can anyone tell me if these are any good at all? I figured $16 is a small price to pay to find out. But I would like other's thoughts if you'll share them. Thanks!

Wow, lucky you!

I have no personal experience with those strings, but based on what I've read, I'd expect them to be fairly similar to the GHS Boomers both in tone and feel.

Since you're already familiar with the Boomers, I'd be interested in your comparative assessment on the Roto Bass.

Yeah, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the transaction doesn't get canceled due to a typo - I saw them on another site for $33.95. So it might have been a mistake - took my money and sent me an invoice though, so I figure I'll find out for sure tomorrow. If they do cancel and offer me at $34 per, I will probably not go through with it - I am not sure that I am interested if it's more like $135. :D

If they cancel and say our bad, no harm no foul. I can accept that, mistakes happen. But if it's legit and/or they honor the sale then that's great for me.

I'll definitely share if I like them or not - even at a normal price they seem really cheap. ($15ish?)

They are very bright to start out with and then when they have broken in they get pretty dark but tbh at the price you paid for them you could change them every week and still have paid less than the average set of strings
