Rough neck on New G&L L2500

Hi, I just picked up a new G&L Tribute L2500 from Musician's friend and I'm feeling some rough spots on the neck. This is the second bass as the first had a chip on the paint where the neck joins the body - so I'm not too keen on the Indonesian G&L quality. I figure my options are to:

  • Live with it
  • Send it back for a replacement
  • Send it back and look for a non-G&L Tribute bass
  • Sand it myself

What would you do?

I'd return it, but I wouldn't count G&L out. I've never heard of the issues you have had before, even with a Tribute model. I have to wonder if you were sent someone else's return. It's happened before.

I have major trust issues with GC, MF, and Music 123, so me recommending looking elsewhere wouldn't be fair to MF.

One advantage of shopping through Sweetwater is you get to see GOOD photos of the exact instrument online, no stock photos. Too bad- it seems as though they aren't carrying G&L.

If you absolutely LOVE everything else about the bass, then sand away. Warranties are overrated anyway. :D

agreed.. although iirc sweetwater do not carry g&L..

after being screwed twice by music123 i wouldnt buy anything from them ever again... zero trust.
