Rounds for a JMJ mustang

I do use rounds on my JMJ Mustang; it's funny, because the bass that converted me back to rounds is one of the few that is shipped with factory-installed flatwounds.
However, I, as some others reported, had this strange chorusy sound on the last frets of the E string when using flats (tried the stock Fender flats, but also D'addario Chromes and a set of old long scale TI flats).

Then I bought Thomastik jazz rounds (JR324), and the problem disappeared. This is the tone after 3 months of usage:

And here it is now, after 8 months, still going strong, with minor EQ adjustments. These strings are expensive, but I plan to use this very set for a long, long time
