Rounds for String Through Mustang?

Plus I have flats on my P-Bass so need another flavour

I've been gifted a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang by my Wife (she rocks) and I want to get some new rounds for it, but I'm having a really hard time finding some that will fit with the string through bridge.

The only strings I've found locally apparently won't fit and honestly I'm not the biggest fan of D'Addario rounds.

Is there a master list of strings that fit

I would string it thru the bridge and if your bridge won't allow it then change the bridge

I put them on my buddy's AmPro Mustang and they crush it. I love Dunlop flats.

I like string through.

Also, it’s a mustang so there are no drop in Bridges that got it without needing extra screw holes

just as a reference this is my buddy’s American mustang. With the standard short scale strings the taper is happening at the nut.

Try getting a Mustang bridge that isn't string through body. Honestly, I'm not a fan of string thru body either, but it's never been a deal breaker for me.

I was looking and I’m like 70% sure this one will fit as it looks like the screw and string-they holes match.

maybe worth a try for someone who doesn’t have to spend $50 on freight

I don't care for a lot of tension and like a smooth mellow tone with good low end, nice mids and smooth highs

TI also makes "Short Scale" Jazz Rounds. If they fit this short scale Gretsch Broadkaster (very nicely, too) - which is so big physically, that it normally takes long scale strings - then, I'd imagine that they'd fit your Mustang, too...

If I had a massive problem with the bridge I would do it but I don't so I won't

That's them. When new, they're quite zingy, but they go dead quickly enough then they do exactly that.

well no because the taper needs to be at the tuner. If the strings are cut short you’re cutting through the main winding which can cause issues if I’m not wrong

Well, i had to cut the 5th string on my long neck and there were no issues at all.
