Can anyone help me understand this bas tone?
Its like the leveled up version of weird 80s smooth jazz bass.
I hear the reverb is and it sounds digital. sounds DI ? Can anyone help me more?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Im new here
Thanks
Thanks!I just wanted to say that "Tammy No-No" is a great sn.
I believe Alan Spenner played a fretless Wal bass on that track, and much of Roxy Musics album that year. Wal bass has a very unique tone, sound, its the cats ass of bass. But it comes with a hefty price tag. Good luck experimenting.
Clearly seen here playing his wal bass on the song Avalon!
It’s a bit astonishing isn’t it. He was some player! My bad, not fretless! Jeeze, he got that tone dialed in!
I thought it was a fretless WalMy bad, not fretless! Jeeze, he got that tone dialed in!
LOL, Im going to go out on a limb here. My own opinion, and I could be 110% wrong here. That sound isnt as much about his EQ, or signal chain. Thats what a Wal bass is all about right there. To me, it has a bridge like sound, with maybe, maybe, a little chorus pedal action if at all.Yeah "he had the tone dialed in" I'm trying to figure out that part lol. Any ideas of the eq and signal.chain?
