I'm in Seattle on business today so I HAD TO drop by BassNW today. Now, I'm sorry I did because I was all set to buy a SansAmp RBI with a Crown XLR 402D and I had to go a play a Demeter. I am very tempted but at 750 bones, ouch! And I haven't even sprung for the power amp yet.

When visiting Seattle on vacation a few years ago, BassNW was on my short list of things to do (along with the EMP and Jimi Hendrix' grave site). They must get a kick out of the dropping jaws that give away first-time visitors...

I kept trying to figure out how to get my wife's buy-in on the Alembic bass that I was crazy about...

Best of luck with that. BassNW is a dangerous place. My general rule-of-thumb is "if I can't afford it, I shouldn't even try it."

Then again, there's something to be said for assembling the ultimate rig one great piece at a time. Is that a possibility for your situation?

I had purchased from them for years, and when I was in Seattle three years ago, I stopped by.

Fantastic shop. It doesn't hurt at all that Chad and crew are nice guys that do a great job and really live up to the customer service end of things.

I am not loyal to a fault, but it is my go-to place for big ticket stuff.
