Rudeness..

I usually try to say thank you...or at least nod, or smile or something...
and I usually try to hold the door open for other people as well...even if they're pretty far behind me, unless I'm in a massive hurry......lol

but when it comes to people not saying thank you...I've noticed that a lot with the girls in my dorm...
yup...

it really gets on my nerves when older people don't even smile or look at you when you hold the door open for them...that's annoying...

Just a quick nod of your head is all the acknowledgement necessary when someone holds a door for you.

But it is necessary and there's no excuse for the rudeness of completely ignoring someone holding a door for you.

Sometimes I'll say, "You're welcome" if they don't acknowledge me. If you use a polite, cheerful tone and a smile it throws them off a bit. It's pretty funny.

There is a small subset of women who resent the fact that a man is opening a door for them. They're thinking, "You pig, I'm just as good as you are and I don't need some macho jerk treating me like a helpless girl who can't walk through a door without a man to assist me!"

These men hating witches aren't very common, but they're around, and you can usually find them on college campuses attending "women's studies" classes where they learn that all men are predators and society is set up to facilitate the oppression of women. They're most easily recognised by the scowl on their face when you hold a door open for them.
