Ther have been a couple different Rudy Sarzo basses. Which specific one do you have? Can you post a pic? And what exactly are you trying to achieve with the upgrade?

So it has soapbar-shaped pickups and a three-band EQ. There are a dozen good choices for both of those.

OP: what is your budget, where are you located, and what do you want the new pups and pre to do for you that the stock ones aren't quite giving you?

what i am after with the update is to get the bass noise a quieter through the p.a. i thought that mabe someone had done this mod before. and with doing so would know if the pickups woud fit with modifying the bass body. and you're right there is some very good preams to choose from.quality is more important than the price to me thankyou
