I am looking for a lightweight combo amp for bar gigs. I've played all the heads and speaker rigs, markbass, ampeg, genz, mesa and I've come to the reality: I'm just a bar band bassist! I don't need all that gear and certainly not all that volume. I've never gone above 3 at any gig. So ... I'm 44, I want light and easy. I played the Fender Rumble 200 yesterday and loved the tone and the weight. Anybody own one want to add comments? I am thinking of using it as my main bar rig.

I would echo the sentiment about going with the Rumble 500. The 200 is great but for just $100 more on the street price you get a whole lot more room and the 2x10s really thump if you want them to. And the 500 is still hella light to tote around.

You might not need all the volume right now but like the say...
I'd rather have volume and not need it than need volume and not have it. ;)

I've heard nothing but good reports about that combo. Add the 15'' ext cab if needed. Bang. Done.
If Probly go the 500w Rumble but each to his own.
I haven't played either at gig levels, only in store, but they sound, look and feel great.

I agree, I would go with the 500 just in case. But yes, the new Rumbles are AWESOME. IMO anyway. I have made repeat trips back to my local GC to play them. I dont ever do that. The OD addition to them even sounds very cool. I hope to own a 500 one day myself. I played the newer Ampeg BR series that came out not too long ago as well. Im more of an Ampeg fan. I would still choose the a Rumble combo over the BA's aby day.

Need an real life answer on this (and by the way the fender rumble club has helped me so much..thanks !!) Can the Rumble V3 200 and i will get the matching 15 ext cab. Can this hang in a live band ? We will be 50/50 on shows with PA support and we do alot of our own set it up like practice and play dif sized venues without pa support. I am a 15 guy and really fighting with myself with do i really need the Rumble 500. Why cant Fender make a 500 with the 15..lol ! PS..this will be my first micro set up(play Acoustic B200 combo now and its great i ill admit) i have come to the conclusion mostly from TB that the Fender is the way to go...started thinking Carvin, GK, Markbass, Ampeg but saw the retro look and read the great reviews and also can hit a footswitch to get dirty quick..well Rumble looks like the amp for me ...Now..??? is..can the 200 stacked do it for me ?? Will appreciate all input..Thanks, D....hey..i could have 3 x 15's running the Acoustic b200 just for more sound...hummm....

The Rumble 200 combo on top of a Rumble 115 cab is going to sound good, and give you plenty of stage volume and will carry any small club or chruch with ease all on it's own. That's a $700 rig.

You always have the option of going with the Rumble 500 head into a pair of Rumble 115 cabs for plenty of power; headroom, and volume. That's a $1,000 rig.

Take your pick.
