No Rush ticket for me... I'm not entirely sure how I could be 475th in the queue then there be only 3 tickets out of circa 10,000 when I got to select, which vanished as I tried to hit the purchase button after selecting them. That is not a queue as I understand the word.

Rush... Unhappy ticket experience

Is this your first time purchasing concert tickets?
You've just been abused by the Ticketmaster machine.
Obviously Rush would be a huge seller, and the pond scum that run Ticketmaster know it. Of those 10000 tickets, I'll guarantee way over half were held back to go on sale at a way higher price.
I've gotten to the stage where I refuse to use the site, and my respect for any artist that sells through them also takes a nose dive, particularly those who claim to speak for the regular working folk

They don't seem to be conversant with British tradition of an orderly queue.
It's almost enough to put me off seeing anything at large venue ever again. I've had much better experiences at large venues compared to this.
I am seriously thinking about going to either Krakow, Milan or Basel and making a vacation out of it. But I wasn't sure if Ticketmaster controls things in Europe nowadays. I did see Rush in Prague in 2004 and IIRC I went through a more local ticket source that wasn't easy with all the international communication and difference in time zones, etc.
I checked out the L.A. dates when they first came out and prices were crazy as expected. Not sure if things have calmed down now. But I will hold off buying tix for the moment because I want to see how things go with Annika when the tour starts.

I've got two tickets for August. Heading there with two buds in Toronto, going to stay overnight somewhere and probably get out of shape for a couple of days. Can hardly wait.

Yup, a large chunk will also go to corporate partners, entities using them for marketing ("giveaways", contests, drawings, etc. to stimulate business or views), and good ol' fashioned nepotism (or just connections in general).
I've bought via Ticketmaster before - you sort of have to. But a queue to be in a scrum is not a queue .
Probably the biggest band I will purchase tickets for is Iron Maiden. They have strict rules with Ticketmaster, limiting resale of their tickets, such as not actually releasing the tickets to the buyer until just hours before the show. Their prices and availability are pretty much a non issue.
This type of thing doesn't happen with the other concerts I'm interested in.
I saw Rush's Cinema Strangiato in the theater when it was released in 2019. That was an amazing experience and all the Rush I will ever need.

Ticketmaster seems to have taken cust service training from the airlines. Always expensive, always stressful, seldom satisfactory.

We've sold out, but we just found some more seats we didn't see before. For an extra fee. Plus tax. Plus surcharge. Just leave your wallet....
We've got ours for Atlanta in November. I did not purchase them. Another family member did so I don't know what the experience was. He's pretty good at getting these things. I just paid him. Hopefully they're good seats. All these old artists are kicking off. Might be the last time to see them.
If I don't get tickets on the artist presale I don't buy tickets. About 2 years ago Ticketmaster just started buying their own tickets and reselling them. I'm not paying $400 for nose bleed seats to see RUSH when the tickets should have been $180
Same way buying stocks works in the US exchanges. Sniffer algorithms out there reading order demands and executing trades microseconds ahead of you, based on what they see as demand and trends, to rob you of the golden goose. By the time you hit the buy button those shares (tickets, in your case) are long gone.
I'm done with seeing bands in large venues. It's too expensive and complex to buy tickets for a show where I can't see any details except on a jumbo screen. I still see a lot of live music but it's all smaller venues.
When Rush announced they were touring again, I was tempted to see them. I've already seen them four times in the 80s and 90s but they are one of the best. Ticket prices were too high for my interest but I think it's also that I want to remember their shows with Neil. That's not a knock on their touring drummer at all but I'd rather remember them as a whole than see a different Rush show.
