SA Orbital Modulator Settings Thread

Once I get my s___ together, I'll post my presets for the Orbital. I'm pretty much just using the 8-stage phaser setting and a synthy reverse-envelope resonator. I want to see if I can match the sound of my EQD Depths, but so far I really haven't come close.

A picture won't show everything... The multi-function option knob controls 6 parameters, there's no way to see the settings from the front panel. I think the only thing to do is send out a list of parameters and values. I'll send out settings for my phaser preset hopefully tomorrow night (sorry, been way too busy),

Greg, it just occurred to me to make a suggestion. Start with the dual chorus setting and turn the tremolo off and dial both speed and depth to their most minimal settings. You are essentially removing or at least limiting the LFO sweep from within the chorus. Set the mix to 50% to really make the detune stand out from the fundamental. See how that sounds. If you want to make it more lush, start sweeping the depth knob until you get what you like. This should help you find your sweet spot.

I'll try that Koch, thanks. I've actually set the quad chorus to factory default following Rogers suggestion and have been enjoying that quite a bit. I'm actually at the hard rock in Chicago getting ready to play a show so we shall see how lush it gets ;)

Here's a couple I've messed with on my PentaBuzz and liked. Haven't used it yet with fretted.

Me too! My girlfriend thinks it's 'cute' how systematic I am with effects info. heh.

Actually, I have a folder with copies of all my data sheets and manuals, complete with notations and frequency analysis so I can access them at once, encyclopedia style. I'm kinda weird that way.

On topic: I'm trying to make time to play with the OM so I can contribute a bit here, its... a bit overwhelming. Maybe tomorrow during the snowstorm I'll come up with something.

Well, I admit I'm lucky.. I put together a treble guitar pedal effects board for her and she loves making @#$%'d up noises with it (psycho-chaotic metal-head she is). So when I do the same with mine, she's all a twitter. I wish she'd play it more though, but she's in school full time now so, you know, priorities....

Weird chick; but then, I like weird chicks. ;)

I was knob twittling around the OM yesterday and she was enjoying the musically useless (but very entertaining) noises I was getting out of it.

I have to dedicate some serious time to figure out this pedal. One effect at a time.
Definitely gonna start with the suggested presets.

I'm going to revive this thread in advance of the arrival of my Orbital. Looking for complex/lush but not particularly deep or overwhelming chorus and phaser sounds, if that makes sense. Something where it is clear that the effect is there, and that there is a complexity to the sound, but nothing that takes over the tone. Who knows, maybe the factory settings take care of this, but it never hurts to poll the collective TB brain. :)

Hi Guys!

I just found this thread, and I'm a new OM owner in need of some direction as well! The thread is a couple of years old. Someone must have found some useful settings by now, right? I'd be most appreciative of anything that you all care to share. In particular, I'm looking more for flanger effects, and the like, but definitely open to any and all suggestions!

Thanks!
