Saddle studs keeps vibrating loose?

So I just bought an Ibanez EDB405 5-String Bass.

The saddle studs on the b string keep lowing, from vibrations i guess, and i'm having to adjust it about once a night. I found an old post about this but i wasn't sure if it was talking about the studs or the screws that hold the saddle to the bridge. either way... Is this something that just happens? Is it a problem with Ibanez basses? Is it a defect? Should I bring it back? Any fixes?

I've never had this problem before, so any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I just researched this for a racing motorcycle part that we just manufactured; CNC machine work and I just didn't feel that the threads were "snug" enough.
As it turns out, metric threads have a looser fit than American threads; couple that with weak quality control, less than perfect setup, etc. and they will move.

I would use some silicone sealer or caulk on the threads (even bathtub caulk would work); just a tiny bit; if for some reason this doesn't stop the problem, get a tube of Loctite 242 (color is blue) at your local hardware; try the silicone first

You can also use a small strip of Teflon plumber's tape on the threads to firm up the contact. Not as potentially messy as the gooey-but-effective tweaks mentioned above and it's easily adjusted or removed.

I use clear fingernail polish.I put it on the threads and,adjust accordingly.The bridge on my Carvin LB75 does the same excact thing.Hasnt harmed the gold hardware at all.been doing it for close to 10 years now.One application tip:After applying,give it time to dry.

do you mean apply it, let it dry then adjust it?
or apply and adjust then let it dry before trying to play it?

yeah he is right about the fit and finish

clean the parts with naptha to remove oil based matherials, and then alcohol to remove the naptha, apply assemble adjust,

and dont get loctite or any other stuff on the finish of your bass

loctite is my choice

in the old days we used dope, u know, airplane dope,

Clean it and try clear nail polish - if that doesn't hold, use Blue Loctite. NOT RED, which is permanent. The nail polish will be less visible than blue Loctite, which is why I recommend that sequence.

Loctite is basicly latex and may be less destructive to a finish than nail polish IMO

sweet. thanks for the info guys. i did the nail polish thing. hopefully that will hold. i've got a show monday and don't want to have to keep adjusting because i'm playing it too hard. haha.
