Nice gig shots everyone.... every one looks great. Cool to see what some of my buddies on TB look like on their gigs!

Nice basses too!

And +1 to Joe's comment regarding the bridge pickup. Literally the only knob I ever touch once the gig starts is the blend control, slightly favoring the bridge pickup for a bit more aggressive, burpy midrange on a few tunes, and having that neck pickup on just a touch results in the low end staying fat (and for those who use singles, the pickups remain reasonably hum cancelling).

I assume for those with other tone goals, doing the same thing but favoring the neck pickup will also get you quickly and easily to a different place tonally.

Yeah, again, that's generally what I've been doing already for all the same reasons, but I also know that's not as faithful to Ross's tone. So I wanted to check with someone who would be playing in a band that would be most likely to be especially particular about that to see if it was significant enough in the mix... clearly (and thankfully), not. :)

OTOH if it's a short scale put me on the list
There's just something so wonderful about that thuddy attack. Plus, the Sadowsky workmanship would absolutely bring out the best in a shortscale IMO...it would sound like an attack dog that's smoked for many years :D

Kind of a fun low key (no drums) country gig with an old friend and some new friends. :) The guy in this particular picture is a new acquaintence, but it was the best shot for my bass. We were playing "Windy and Warm" by Chet Atkins and John D. Loudermilk. That guitar he's playing is actually a '59 Gretsch Country Gentleman Guitar, pretty much identical to the one Chet played.
