I mean, the hair color is from a bottle, the boobs are silicone, make-up from some place else......

She isn't worth it.............you can get the same thing if not better, for a LOT cheaper!!!!:hiding:

True, all jazzes are "Fender" copies, but today's Fenders are "Fender" copies. I've owned the "Custom Shop" stuff and the build quality isn't even up to what the Metro shop is making (I've owned NYC and Metros). He might be a "parts" guy...frankly I'm really not sure about all that. But, how can you say that Fender is better based on that? I mean, are Fender's CNC machines better than the ones that makes Roger's stuff?

I'm being totally sarcastic here! I'm just saying all the crap that I hear people spouting off about them.
Better coming from someone who owns one eh?!?!
I've owned about 7 Sadowsky's over the last 14 years and currently have IMO one of the best NYC 5's I've ever owned.
I could care less about how they are made before I get my grubby little paws on it!!

No, I say better in a more ethical way. Sadowsky doesn't innove anything, he takes a very popular body/neck that have been designed by Leo Fender, put his own electronics and pus in it, and triple the price that's it. It's like taking a BMW, putting a porsche engine in, sell that BMW 200,000$. Seriously, that's not even thinkable. Do your own model FFS. That's all that I ask.

Sure sadowsky are great basses, but I hate em for the fact that they only copy an existent concept and that they are extremely overpriced. Ok construction is great, but man alder is alder, maple is maple and those woods are ****ing cheap and the jazz/precision shape is not very hard to build. So, it's a standard instrument with great electronics in. Yeah, the majority of Fender s nowadays have a very poor built quality. But you can find some gems like my jazz bass (oh god I've tried so many jazz basses before finding the one I liked that much). Just search a bit and you'll get a Fender that will sound as good as a Sadowsky for the quarter of the price if you simply take your time and search a bit.

Funny how you people on TB constantly say that Warwick are overpriced and then buy a Sadowsky. Man, you can say the warwicks aren't you're cup of tea, but at least they got their own models (and they have a lot of models) with unique construction, pickup, pickup positionment, tonewoods (which are very expensive), etc.... I'll always respect Warwick (or any other company/luthier that passes hours on the drawing board to not come up with a jazz bass) for their innovations.

Seriously, praising a company that copies others' concepts is as illogic to me than accepting to be operated by a doctor that has cheated to all his tests during is college formation.

Warwick made basses for many years before they came up with their own design.

I'm not trying to take pot-shots at ya Flipper 'ol boy.

But seriously, and we have no way of knowing if you're being truthful, but have you ever spent more than 5 min with a Sadowsky?

If you have and walked away not liking them, then it wasn't for you. But when someone with an open mind doesn't like it, it's easier to accept other than "it's a copy, therefore it isn't that good" or something of that nature (not putting words in your mouth). And I'm not claiming that it will be a life changing experience for you either.
But when I have our main FOH guy telling me "Play the white bass" (my current NYC 5) or a studio engineer say "Bring that pretty red-ish bass" (my old & first new NYC 5) or at sound check after 10 seconds "Hey man what are you playing?? I'm done! OK gimme keys!!".
Well, I gotta trust it's more than just "******* cheap wood".
I've had engineers tell me the only thing they had to do was turn up my channel.

The kind of stuff that doesn't make sense to me, especially when 1) there isn't THAT many out there, but the Metro's are helping, and 2) most guys fall in #1 and basically don't have anything intelligent to say, so they knock them.

Like in my other post, one could make the SAME claim about a $150 SX next to the "oh god I've tried so many jazz basses before finding the one I liked that much" Fender you now own.

Like they say, when you're on top, EVERYbody takes shots at you.

Ethics aside (from the "copy" stand point, I'll give you a little latitude there) I can't really wrap my head around why guys want to try and take them down?

Someone with half a brain explain that to me. Some of the most respected studio and live touring musicians live and breathe by their Sadowsky's (and I know a LOT of other brands as well) and I guess all those guys are snowballed too.

Lets see, I'll start the list:
Michael Rhodes
Will Lee
Mike Brignardello
Victor Broden
Dave Bronze
our own TB'rs Woodchuck & LaMarquis Jefferson

OMG at least read what I've written. I've said that SADOWSKY WERE GREAT BASSES AND MY JUDGEMENT WAS ONLY ETHICAL.

I like Sadowsky basses. I love their tones, their consistency and all. But I hate the fact that they simply have copied. and remember:

THIS IS AN ETHICAL POINT OF VIEW.

P.S.: And cheap doesn't mean bad, it means inexpensive.
