Time for me to let a couple of things go, so I'm gonna put this one out as a feeler.
Up for sale is my lovely Japanese Sadowsky MetroExpress MV4E. Not to be confused with the current Metro Express basses that are being built in China, these ones were only produced in Japan for about a year or two and they were built to a much higher standard of quality than today's "RSD" Metro Express line. This one is so nice, it's honestly hard for me to part with.
I'm the original owner (bought it brand new a little under 2 years ago), the bass is in like-new condition and weighs in at only 8.46 lbs! The maple neck is exceptional and has a very nice satin nitro finish; the body is ash with Olympic White finish. The fretwork is as perfect as any American or German Sadowsky that I've played; the action is very low with no unwanted buzz. It's loaded with the same Sadowsky noiseless J/J pickups that they use in the NYC line, as well as the classic Sadowsky preamp with the passive tone control (VTC), with the push/pull pot to switch between active/passive. It sounds absolutely HUGE and the electronics themselves are dead silent when you're not playing. Honestly, this bass is basically just as good as a Metroline MV4, which are considerably more expensive. You'd be hard pressed to find any difference in the build quality.
The only blemish on the instrument is a couple of tiny dings on the headstock which are pictured. They're very small and other than some basic swirling on the pickguard, that's it. This bass is in immaculate condition, otherwise. Original Sadowsky ultralite foam hardshell case is included, as well as the tools that came with it (the case is so lightweight that it almost feels like there's no bass inside it). I just strung it up with a new set of DR HI-BEAMS, as well.
Price includes cost of PayPal fees and shipping, CONUS only. Thanks for looking!
