Sadowsky Metro ?

Tell me about this bass.

i found one. its about two years old, has active Sadow. electonics with a "push-pull" toggle.
About how much is it worth?

Its a four string.

And is this model a good bass? i need it to be a player. Whats the tone like ?

I have never played a sadowsky but I've heard there pretty much all good but with a big price.

Sadowsky Metro's are awesome basses. I got one a little while ago and love it.

Expect a modern tone which you'll be able to shape with the EQ and the VTC (if that one has one - its an optional feature)

Do a forum search on "Sadowsky Metro" and prepare to be bombarded by very enthusiatic posts .

I read them all too and ended up buying two Metros (a Modern 5 and a Vintage 4). Sadly, I'd let my expectations get too high by reading all the superlatives and ended up being non-plussed. They were both quickly sold on.

Morals :

1. "No smoke without fire". Nearly everyone here loves them, there must be a good reason for that.

2. "Don't believe everything you read". Excluding this post .

I've got a Modern 5 and absolutely love it. It is, undoubtedly, a player. Sounds good and cuts through anything, anywhere. Playability is terrific, and if I had to go into any situation armed with only one bass, this would be it.

That said, the Modern is a bit of a different beast than the Vintage, so your mileage may vary. I enjoy that sound too, and it is certainly a bit warmer, but even coming into this purchase with high expectations, I (three+ years later, no less!) remain blown away each time I plug in my Sadowsky. The 'bark', for lack of a better word, is just fantastic. This is the one instrument in my fleet that gets raves from other musicians, and even singers. And recording engineers smile like kids in a candy store.

Advice for the back of your mind if you buy one - use your amp's volume knob judiciously. The Sadowsky pre-amp is not adjustable, and the only setting is fixed @ "Freakin' Loud!" Speaker cabinets beware.

I fyou find Metro at a good price, or you have the money for the regular price, get one. They are great basses.

I currently own only one bass and its a Sadowsky Metro RV4. Best bass I've owned hands down. Plays great, and cuts through a mix like nobody's business. I have a Metro Precision on order as well, cant wait to get it.
