Sadowsky Preamp vs Avalon U5 Preamp

and don't forget that if you're using delays or reverbs, they always do best when they're in the effects loop of your amp. everything else usually goes before the amp.
I might dispute that, since I've never noticed much of a difference whether an effect goes in-line or in the loop, and because I'm generally contrary anyway ;)

just saying time based effects usually sound best in the effects loop after all eq'ing and other processing has taken place.

pretty much every other effect, dynamic type effects, are best before the input of the amp as they're closer to the original source, the bass, and more reactive to the output of the bass.
