Same bass...sometimes love it other times not so much

I wonder why it is that sometimes a bass that I normally love the sound of will sound like crud. Zero changes of anything, except my feelings toward it.

Used to be the same with my stereo speakers.

Anyone else go through the same thing?

You've changed, not the bass. It's ok, though. You're probably human. It happens.

Always. I guess that's why I have 10 basses. Even though I must admit I'm loving my newly acquired Spector's.

I know I'm still technically in the honeymoon phase with them. But, I haven't looked at the classifieds to see what's out there.

I own few basses now, every single one has different sounding. I havent ever been bored by any bass, even with my first one, that I left, because its a machine for metal (I mean design here), not for rythms I'm playing now

I don't think it's anything like GAS, as I've got a few basses that I can switch over to. It's just weird to me that my likes in sound changes for no apparent reason.

One day I'll play the bass and am floored by how hood it sounds. The next day I'll play the bass and am very underwhelmed and will switch to a different bass.

Like I mentioned, I used to do this with speakers. I guess that's why I used to have several pairs that I could switch out every now and then.

With a bass; however, it's so much easier than swapping speakers in and out.

For whatever reason, I tend to get tired of the same sound after a while and it starts sounding not so pleasant. I guess it's a need for change or something.

Luckily, like I've said, I can swap the bass out for another one for a while.

It's all good...just a bit weird.
