Double Bass Sandy

The Governor has petitioned the Feds for $30 billion disaster relief....

FEMA had $7 billion in the bank before they started writing disaster relief checks. The House of Representatives controls the purse strings, and some of their members are on record saying FEMA should spend what it has on hand and then maybe we can talk about more money to help the people and businesses -- taxpayers, but not THEIR constituents -- who got wiped out.

A lot of people are going to get hurt. Again.

Although my house was heavily molested and i lost power for 14 days. It was nothing compared to midland an newdorp beach.

When I noticed the raging ocean making its way up my driveway, I drove off in my car avoiding falling trees, fallen power lines and main roads under a few feet of water. I kinda got stranded in a stop an shop parking lot all the while watchin transformer after transformer blow up lighting up the sky much like a lightning storm.
But in the end minimal damage to my house. I was lucky
Staten Island got blasted!

Anything is possible. A slabbist friend, Michael Delacerda from New Orleans, left his collection of early Alembic and Rick Turner basses in his attic when he fled Katrina. They bathed in that broth for a week before he was able to get home and fish them out. I saw pictures, and they looked pretty much as you'd expect them to.

It took some doing, but as I recall, all were saved. I wish you and the owner luck.
