Sanox was a higher-end Japanese manufacturer. Their Sanox / Leduc LogaBass headless is the first to come to mind.

I own an early 80s SANOX “P-Bass”, Made in Japan…imo it’s a high end Japanese made instrument. The neck on this bass is a smooth as silk… See photos…
