Sansamp RBI Issues

Recently picked up an RBI. Currently running it into a Peavey Pro 500 (Sansamp->Power Amp In) and it seems to lose volume dramatically when I push the blend knob clockwise and gain volume dramatically when it's going counter clockwise. When it's at 100% blend it hardly has any volume even with the level maxed. It's like the blend knob doesn't even work at all and only reduces the dry signal of my bass when increased.

I'm also having really random and unpredictable pops/crackles/changes in volumes but I have a feeling that might be my bass input or something?

where is the drive knob set? if you dime the blend knob (what i myself prefer out of a sansamp) that drive knob becomes your preamp gain control, you need to have it up at least a bit to get signal into the system.

Not sure. I'm not sure if mine that doesn't drop in volume is the fluke or if only the ones who have this issue speak up. You'd have to ask Sansamp.
I'll probably give them a call tomorrow.

Have you made sure the -20db pad is pushed in? I would also disengage the 50/50 button to see if that makes a difference in volume. Good luck
The -20 pad was out, I pushed it in on both the input for the xlr and the 1/4 inch and it didn't make a difference at all. The 50/50 was also disengaged. I'll try messing with it more once I get the time, hopefully it's just some kind of user error and not something wrong with it.

I've also realized that the Drive and the Presence knobs make no noticeable difference to the tone whether maxed out or turned off. The active switch in the front is pushed in.. The only knobs that actively work are the eq and the level.

So I've contacted Tech 21 and Lloyd suspects that there's something defective about the unit. Looks like I'm going to be sending it to the other side of the country for repair. Either than or contact my tech and see if he has any experience with sansamps.
