Afaik the RPM is the exact same deal as the RBI but with a frequency shifter on the mids. Or not, somebody will know for sure.

Yep, parametric mid knob, but no presence control. The RPM has a different gain structure as well. More gain on tap, but not really musical beyond 12:00 IMO.

I prefer the EQ section of the RPM for the mid control, but I like the way the gain knob responds better on the RBI.

So in other words if you connect both in parrallel your gonna have one Growling sound.:cool:
 
Yep. I would use the RPM as my main preamp set fairy clean, and put the RBI in the effects loop of the RPM to blend in the dirt.

I go the other way: RBI as primary, RPM in parallel via fx loop. That's because my gig cab is the tweeterless Berg NV610, and the RBI Presence control is mandatory for the gritty high end I like to use. I blend in growl from the RPM semi-para mid.
