It's a valid solution for a featherweight SVT that sound guys will eat up.
I have had an RBI and currently run BDDI deluxe, tailoring mids with a Trace Eq pedal. I don't really need so much of the VT character for that gig so I'm happy to leave the VT gas unsatisfied.
I'm pretty immune to paying full retail on new release stuff myself. You can probably grab up an RBI and a VT pedal and an EQ pedal from the classifieds for the same outlay.
RPM and a VT deluxe might be the go, got to have control of the mids.

Yeah, I'm still leaning towards the RBI but I'd love to hear more of how the new rack unit sounds. I suppose it's just a waiting game now :/
