Save the whales has gone too far.

As far as im concerned we must be interested into mataining the planetery ecological equilibrium or it'll go to hell, but there are proper ways to do this without acting like a bunch of retards believing that their beliefs are the absolute right ones.

I bet that most of this people have never had to work on a whaling ship to pay for their bills, children education and all the stuff real people is bound to.

And Maki is right this people should be fully responsible of their whole operations, both legally and economically.

IMO whales are a food group not politics.

No, theyre certainly not food. Theyre in danger (endangered).

Because we are humans.

I agree, animals are important too, but when I have to decide between saving a truck full of chickens, or one old lady, i'd pick the old lady.

Id save the truck full of chickums. The old lady would die soon enough anyways, and while I dont eat meat, the chickens can at least feed a few hungry people.

Well the point I was trying to make seemed to have slipped into the 4th dimension. As for my comment about whales being food, lots of rural arctic communities, like where i was raised, rely on marine mammals like whales and seal as a source of sustenance. How you folks got all political about Japanese whalers(which IMO disgust me), is beyond me. Before you go and open the hole in your face about somebody chomping down on an "endangered" species do some research. Bowhead whales are alive(albiet years of commercial whaling years ago did make quite a dent) and well, and even still the hunting of whales is regulated to 25-40 kills a year. There is an irony in the fact that theyre making a movie about saving whales in an area that is the site of yearly hunting. But obviously the political opinions were just too damn important.

I always expect some minor deviation, not a veering hairpin turn into a brick wall.

When the thread remotely has something to do with an issue that has a few nutcases on opposite sides of the issue (By nutcases, I mean some of the Japanese whalers, and people like greenpeace), the result is
