It seems the only information on repairing these is for the gen 2 version unless I've just overlooked anything so I figured it's worth sharing a couple pictures. They go together the same as the 2i2 gen 1, with two plastic clips on the back of the faceplate.

Here's your reminder to check the easy stuff first. The solder points on the headphone jacks look perfectly fine, the tabs inside just needed to be lifted slightly.

Thankfully that's all it was. It was reason enough for the seller to knock the price down considerably.


But I did forget to share the other picture so here it is. The tabs sit behind those ridges that run down the top of the sleeve on the inside, you can kind of see the one on the top right. The other is behind the wires coming out of the harness on the left
