I have a scar on my right eyebrow from a dresser (3 y.o.), two on my knee from arthroscopic surgery, one on the back of my hand from a marshmallow skewer burn (that was a dare), one on the top of my foot from a gate corner, and a nice keloid from the tailpipe of an ATV (pics later). All told, probably around 10".

Well, I'm a cook. I play with fire and knives all day everyday. I wouldn't measure my scars by the linear inch. I would choose area and crush your highest option. :wideyed: But if I were to measure the big ones by their longest dimension only, I'd probably still fall into the 40 inch range, IDK, just a guess. My forearms look like airports, my fingers and hands are likely 15% scar tissue. It's so regular of a thing sometimes I don't even realize immediately that I'm cut. Burns, of course, I don't miss :jawdrop:

I've got a few. This used to look a lot worse:

I've been run over by a tow truck. I've been run over by a tractor. I've been bitten by a rabid dog. I blew up my leg with a chicken water bottle. A house collapsed on me once. I fell out of a helicopter in the Navy. And I've been in four major car wrecks and six minor ones. Most of that was between the ages of eight and sixteen. Well, except for the Navy thing and two of the wrecks.

So yeah. More than 45".

Care to elaborate on the chicken water bottle?
Color me intrigued.

Chicken pox at 21...the biggest one is still on my face where I had a zit at the time I got the pox.
I have also stepped on glass way too much.
Bone came through my arm when I broke it back when I was 8 years old. Interesting little scar.
I've had bruises that were much more interesting to look at than my scars and what caused them.

I have various ones. Never really thought to measure them. Because my job includes working with sharp metal, brazing/welding/soldering, and doing mechanical work, most of them are localized on my hands and forearms. I have one I'm particularly fond of on my left wrist where a blob of solder burned through until it got down to that nice white fatty looking stuff. It's about the size of a quarter. One on my left bicep almost matches it, but slightly smaller. A lot on my knuckles, hands, and so forth. One Harry Potter-esque one on my forehead from when I was a kid, that I don't remember getting. I guess I fell down the brick stairs at my grandmother's house and skinned off a good chunk of my forehead. One about 3" long on my head I got at work while doing an AC job in an attic (sheet metal cut). One on my left index finger where a razor knife cut through and halfway through my fingernail, all the way to the cuticle. One that runs the whole length of my left eyebrow where my mother accidentally hit me in the face with a baseball when I was a kid (it hit my glasses and those split my eyebrow open). So yeah, I guess I've gotten a few.

I still think Brad2dBone probably has me beat, though.

I was an aggressive idiot when I was a kid growing up as a yute in Philly. I still have all the badges of dumbassdom though most are thankfully faded. You really have to look to see the teeth marks. Another plus. The knife wound through my left hand... that's too big to ever fade. My thumb was nearly severed. I have a fractured skull from my accident as a 4th grader. That put me in a coma for a week and required a bit of wheel chair time to recover. I missed all of that year and so graduated late as a result. I think the evidence of the fracture is still quite evident. I have 3 22 cal wounds, right hand at the thumb knuckle, right hamstring a bit left of center and the right Achilles tendon. This occurred during the same incident as my left hand. Not a fun day for Funky.

The fracture goes from the crown down the right side and terminating just behind the temple. I think this angle shows it. I was getting kitty kisses :)

The thumb wound I got when I was 19. There were far more stitches inside than outside. The nerve damage was sadly never fixed. The scar itself is 2 inches approx but the twist caused a rip so it's about 2x2 and went all the way through before I could grab the blade. The light is terrible here. Not a good pic.
