Schaller to Dunlop

JOOC: will the Schaller screws fit thru the Dunlop buttons? With the exception of the head, that is.

New Schallers? No. Actually the strap pin part of new Schallers is the screw head, for all practical purposes. It's all one piece, and has a small hex key hole down inside the strap pin, for screwing it on the bass. However... I replaced the Dunlops on my new Serek Sacramento Bass with Schallers recently. Other than having to drill the pilot hole a little deeper (the Schaller has a longer screw part), I didn't have to do anything else. I just made sure the screw started in the existing threads in the wood, and screwed the thing down with a little hex key. Easy-peasy... :cool:
