Both these companies make very high quality products, in my experience. For service, though, there's been a definite difference - mainly down to availability from stock, I suppose.

I ordered a set of tuners direct from Schaller, Germany, late on Monday night. They arrived early Wednesday afternoon. Fantastic service!

Last year, I ordered three sets of tuners direct from Hipshot, NY. They took several months to arrive.Maybe Hipshot need to keep more of their product catalogue in stock?

Last year I ordered some Hipshot Licensed Ultralite tuners from their web site and had them in less than a week. They fit perfectly on my Cort fretless.

Two years ago I bought a Schaller Roller guitar bridge, and some of the saddle height screws were messed up. I emailed Schaller customer service and had a full set of height screws within a few days.

Both companies are top notch in my book.
