Take off the neck and look for any markings on the neck pocket as well as on the neck itself. Post pictures once you're done.
I'd say you've done well for $90 regardless of what the end result ends up being, but that's me.

Yeah. They did. When they started out in the late 70's they did necks, bodies, pretty much all parts. They started doing some full on builds shortly after. If you check the back of Van Halen's debut album Michael Anthony is shown holding/playing/posing with a Schecter P.
Smoking deal. You just bought and American made Jazz bass for the price of the bridge. I've played a few schecters of that era and while they tend to be a bit on the heavy side they all sounded good.

That's definitely a Schecter. The serial number on the neckplate that starts with an A and then has 4 numbers indicates it was made from the mid to late 80's when Schecter's were made in TX.
They used to make parts, so a lot of their basses looks like fender parts basses. For $90, you did damn good. Let me know if you decide to sell it.

I'm not sure about value, but you could probably find similar "Sold" listings on Ebay. You should at the very least be able to get enough to purchase a MIM Standard lefty. Maybe something even better.
I have in mind a Eastwood Hi Flyer, but definitely interested in a US Made something to take back with me in France....
Looks like a real Schecter from the 1980s, although I don't think the Badass was stock at that time. That model was called the "Venus" (and in some circles I believe it's also referred to as an "R/4") and every one of those basses I ever encountered had a Schaller roller bridge rather than a Badass. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
$90 is a great deal if the bass is in good shape.
If you're heading to France soon, I'd act relatively quickly and either purchase a supporting membership (required in order to sell anything on TalkBass) or put it up on Ebay.
The bad news is twofold.
1) You might not get what you hope on ebay. Here's the only "completed" listing I was able to find for a comprable instrument. It's basically the P/J version of your bass, but it's in notably better condition.

2)Unfortunatley, it also appears that the plastic pickup covers (and possibly a pole or two) are missing from your J style pickups. What's holding them in place? Or, are they just a different style of pickup?
All that said, you still scored a great deal and it's not inconcievable that you could get enough $ in a sale (a trade of lefty for righty might be hard to find) to afford a used eastwood or some other lefty bass.

made some research today and got some informations today at Emerald City Guitars in Seattle. They have guitars from 300 to 380000USD.....very nice people there.....
Body is Original, Holes under bridges shows a Change of Bridge for a "Leo Quan Inc." BadAss Bass II.
Pickups are apparently Original Schecter only proposed on Custom Shop Basses...
Pots comfirm 80's model, pot is actually '81 (expert at ECG told me that!).
I may have it reconditioned for a Few hundreds apparently but those pickups are impossible to find....

Mine was what 30th Street Guitars had labeled as a "Tom Anderson" on the hang tag. It was a tobacco burst that had a vintage style bridge except two more screws under the saddles in addition to the other five screws on the normal spot. It was basically Schecters take on a 60's Jazz, same neck, headstock and logo, but with traditional covered pickups that were also stamped "Schecter" in the same font. I practically gave it away in a sale here many years ago but I had also refinished it to natural. I'd guess an example like yours would fetch anywhere from $400-$800 assuming the mechanics of the neck were intact.
You could be right. I personally feel they're worth about what a Fullerton RI would go for, but it all depends on the market. I still kick myself for doing what I did to that Schecter Jazz and if I had disposable income would seek out as many from that era I could find. I cut my teeth on that bass and it's still the finest Jazz I've ever played since...and some very expensive J's have passed my hands since.
My old one, post refin and from the sale thread. I'll try to find a pic of the original burst.
Edit: The pickguard was a replacement. When I bought it, it had a simple single ply parchment. It's my belief that that PG was not original and was put there to cover up an ugly route the previous owner made to better access the heel truss adjust.
Looking at these also brings to mind how I tried to buy back the bass later on, but it had already changed hands again by then.
