Schecter Model T-info wanted

Hey!

I know there are a lot of Schecter boosters around here but there's one Schecter model I rarely see discussed-the Model T.
Personally, I think the butterscotch blonde w/black pg looks terrific.

Why is there so little TB love for the Model T? :( Is there something wrong with it that I havent heard about? Neck problems? Tone issues?

Looking forward to some feedback.

As an owner of the Schecter version of a thinline tele (Baron H) I am sure that the neck is fine, Judging by the pickups tone should be nice as well. If I were to guess issues would be ergonomic (heavy, sharp edged body). New cost placed it between a mim and mia fenders which is tough market to break into. On the bright side the "vintagey" Schecters can occasionally be found NOS at half retail (in my case), and if you encounter one used they can occasionaly be had for a steal. Personally I can't wait to see one of those "Schecterbackers" in a store sometime soon.

Why was it a mistake to sell? What was it about the bass you miss?

I thought when they first came out as the sig bass for the DiLeo brother of Stone Temple Pilots that they would really take off.

I was GAS'ing for one of the Black/Maple ones a year or two ago, but I couldn't find one anywhere, and couldn't get much info on them other than what's on the Schecter website. To me, they look like they would be a great bass. I have heard they can be heavy. But since I've never seen one in person, I don't know.

I've got a early one- ash body in see thru white, two knob instead of three. Granted it weighs a ton- 10.5 lbs, its still my favorite to play. The neck suits me just fine- comfortable and fairly fast, much easier to play than my '57 p, and has a satin finish unlike the one centralharbor played. not sticky at all. I've got a 62 custom shop pup at the neck at the moment. I just roll off the bridge pup and pbass goodness poors out of the thing. I've been looking for a 5 string version to go with it- ya never know when you're gonna want more low end on the lowend.

I play a Model T-5 Robert DeLeo model. It's 3 tone sunburst, SD pups and two nobs, one stacked; separate volumes, master tone. I'm going to change the pickups and tuners, which are the weakest link. I'm going to put in EMGs. That said it's a hell of a bass. Has a heavy bridge, slightly baseball like neck, which I prefer and a solid B. My only complaint is the font used for the "Schecter Diamond Series" on the headstock. Awful.

For the amount i'd get for it on Cl there's no reason to sell 'er. In my opinion she's a hidden gem.

How much are these bringing on CL? (not that I've ever seen one!)

Same here. I've been looking for one of the white wash finished ones with a maple fretboard for a while. Anyone want to sell one???
I played a sunburst model t in store way back and loved the feel. Really nailed Robert's tone when they had EMGs. When I finally had the money together I couldn't and haven't found either of the older models since.

I had a wonderful expirence buying this Model T off of the Guitar Center used page. I was so pleased to find that the Duncan Design stock pickups were replaced with Dimarzio's, although I am very tempted to get the EMG's in this bass. Its already giged with me too ! :bassist:
