The difference is that G&L, Fender, et. al. make foreign copies of US originals. What Schecter seems to be doing is making a US copy of a Chinese-made Diamond Series design. This is back asswards, and the bass above looks like any one of a bazillion cheesy Chinese knockoffs. Christ.... does the market really need another Jazz clone?
Have you tried one of the American productions Js?
I will say this don't knock until you tied it.
IMHO I find that the Schecter American production instruments are better built with a more comfortable neck fell then any American standard that I have tried (and that would be a lot).
