I mean, that's stunning. It may not be your thing and fair enough, but no reason why that couldn't be all the bass anyone would ever need.

Regarding the scooped midrange of the HH Stingrays, I get my best tone by boosting the midrange to about 2:00 o’clock using the third position (both humbuckers blended) and maybe some additional bass with the treble at 12:00 o’clock. I put DR Pure Blue strings on the bass which have a forward character. You can play around with the equalization more but the HH definitely needs some midrange boost.

Single pickup IS the StingRay sound.

I've tried and owned alot of HH's over the years, to me they sound too scooped and uncharacteristic (unless you're only using the rear pickup, but then why get it?). To me that front pickup is too far forward, and it will never sound like a Sabre either, which was the HH done correctly IMO.

I would be more into your Blazer. That era of Ibanez is my Jam.
With that said, and knowing that you dont have an anti Ibanez tilt, I would consider a 90s Ibanez ATK 300.
They are sometimes called the 'poor man's Stingray'
If being a "poor man" means not having an ego regarding the writing on the headstock, then call me poor. I like the ATK more.

Loved my ATK305 for many years. Couple hundreds of gigs. Thousands of hours of playtime. Great bass.
