school + work full time

anyone go to school and work full time? Is it really tough? I'm going back to school in january for a career change. I'm not sure If I can survive working p.t., but at least I'm a single guy.

are there any jobs that exist that you can study while working?

anyway, any comments, suggestions etc...

I did it in high school, and then again a few years ago when I started training for an IT career. Yeah, it is tough, but not impossible.

Keep your eyes focused on the prize at the end. The minute you look down, or behind you, you'll lose focus.

I'm struggling working 20 hours a week and doing well in my classes, however, I tend to procrastinate. Then I've been working weekends for a while bringing it up to 40 hours a week. It's doable, but not easy.

For me, it's lack of motivation being that the classes I'm taking are merely graduation requirements.

I'll also add that it is extremely fulfilling and rewarding to look back when you are done, and see what you were able to accomplish.

No matter where life takes you, you will always have that proud accomplishment under your belt. Go for it!!

My Sr. year of high school I had a full day of school a full time weekday job (8 hour days) and then I worked 6 hour days on the weekend.

I didn't have much of a life and I was exhausted. But I was living on my own and needed the money

It's all about time management. Mine sucks. But there are people who can pull it off.

Be prepared not to have a life, though. It's all about priorities at this point.

I had a full time job and went to college. Most of the time it sucked, but like MJ5150 said, it is rewarding when you are done. I also think it depends what degree you are taking. Mine simply wasn't that hard, but I have a friend that is going back to school and is at the University of Illinois' school of business. It is very tough and he had to quit his job to attend. Lucky for him his wife can support him while he is taking this on.
